Job Summary

As a Sustainability Officer at Amplius youll help shape and strengthen our Environmental Management System promote best practice and ensure we meet our environmental responsibilities. This is a great opportunity for someone whos genuinely passionate about sustainability eager to improve performance and committed to embedding sustainable practices across the organisation.


Salary: 41700 per year

Contract: Permanent full time

Your week: 36.25 hours (Monday to Friday 9am - 5.15pm)

Location: Hybrid with a fortnightly presence in our Peterborough office

Snapshot of your role

  • Lead the development and rollout of an ISO 14001 aligned Environmental Management System.
  • Shape and maintain system structures procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Work with teams across the organisation to gather data and assess environmental impacts.
  • Monitor and report on EMS performance driving continuous improvement.
  • Support wider sustainability goals including carbon reduction waste management and resource efficiency.
  • Collect and analyse environmental data for internal updates and external reporting requirements.
  • Keep track of sustainability KPIs and ensure ongoing compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Carry out internal audits and support external audit activity.
  • Identify risks opportunities and improvements relating to environmental performance and sustainable practices.
  • Contribute to decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects across Amplius homes and operations.

What were looking for

  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental Science Sustainability or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role ideally in the public sector or social housing.
  • Confident analysing environmental and sustainability data.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • Passionate about sustainability with a practical solutions-focused approach.
  • Analytical detail-driven and comfortable interpreting compliance requirements.

A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
