Your new role

Southend City Council are looking to appoint a full time social care experienced Data Officer in a fixed-term capacity until March 2027.

The successful candidate will be supporting the Foundations Project (parenting programme) by helping to coordinate implement deliver and evaluate the project until completion in 2027.

Along with this the new position will require the Data Officer to provide full administrative support to the childrens social care team by researching collating analysing processing reporting and distributing data to the departments.

The post holder will promote the use of regular benchmarking across the department and provide regular information on service and practice levels within a performance management framework.

They will assist with the continued development and implementation by monitoring and reviewing the framework of all performance targets for the departments including Government and locally determined targets to achieve the highest possible standards within available resources.

Within this position hybrid working opportunities are available. However you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre as and when required by the team.

Please note due to the nature of the position the Data Officer may be required to attend meetings where some distressing information may be shared please bear this in mind when applying for the position.

What youll need to succeed

To be shortlisted for this position it is essential that you have excellent Microsoft knowledge especially in Excel and Power-Point as well as previous experience in data collection especially in a social care setting.

Have the ability to accurately analyse and present numerical information in a user-friendly format including use of graphical and visual methods. Have a good understanding of organisational planning and performance processes and have experience of establishing monitoring and maintaining performance.

You must hold a minimum of GSCE C in Maths English and Science.
