Job Summary

This Seasonal Event Attendant position supports staff and volunteers in planning coordinating and executing special events. The role involves event setup visitor assistance and on-site operational support to ensure events run smoothly safely and professionally.

What Youll Do

  • Set up and tear down event spaces including arranging tables and chairs placing signage decorating and preparing equipment such as projectors and whiteboards.
  • Assist with visitor and volunteer registration check-in and general event flow.
  • Operate District vehicles including golf carts and UTVs to transport materials and support event logistics.
  • Greet visitors provide directions and share information about District preserves facilities and programs.
  • Inspect event areas for safety accessibility and cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate event records including visitor logs sign-in sheets and post-event reports.
  • Follow all safety rules and help maintain a clean hazard-free work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to both internal staff and the public.

What Youll Need

  • 16 years of age or older at time of hire.
  • Must have and maintain CPR AED and First Aid certification or obtain upon hire.
  • Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire.
  • Previous experience in event coordination or planning.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Schedule & Pay

  • Days and hours change based on activities and needs but typical hours are 30. This position does require wokring weekends and holidays.
  • This position starts around May of 2026 and works until October/November.
  • $17 per hour

Work Setting

  • Position is based out of the St James Farm Forest Preserve is Warrenville IL.
  • Primarily working outdoors this position includes a fun atmosphere and assisting with a wide variety of events and programs.
