Quant Analyst Power Markets (fmd)

Are you ready to drive innovation in the Nordic Structured Trading team At Axpo Nordic youll play a key role in developing advanced quantitative models and tools to support our renewable energy and flexibility solutions. Join us and shape the future of energy trading!

What you will do:

• Develop capabilities for Renewable Energy Offtake BESS Flexibility and Ancillary Services products.
• Build pricing methods and tools for Flexibility-related solutions.
• Collaborate with the Nordic Physical Trading desk to develop optimization algorithms/tools for multi-market optimization.
• Apply complex data science methods to identify trading opportunities in European commodities markets.
• Design models to support trading strategies and perform ad hoc analysis tasks with the team.
• Promote the use of data and analytics within Axpo Nordic and actively contribute to Axpos Data Scientist and Quant communities.

What you bring & who you are:

• Masters Degree in Engineering Physics Mathematics Quantitative Finance or Finance (relevant experience with a Bachelors degree may be considered).
• At least 3 years of experience in Power Markets and strong knowledge of European energy markets.
• Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages.
• Applied statistics skills (e.g. distributions statistical testing regression).
• Experience with databases APIs and data lakes as well as data visualization and machine learning tools.
• Strong analytical skills entrepreneurial mindset and commercial interest.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English.
