Role Overview Bank Statement Analysis for MSME Loan Lending
We are hiring four experienced Accountants to join our clients lending team delivering critical financial insights to support MSME loan origination and underwriting. The successful candidates will analyse bank statements evaluate cash flows and perform key financial assessments to drive accurate loan decision-making for micro small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). You will work closely with risk analysts loan officers and business clients to ensure a data-driven approach to sustainable lending.
Bank Statement Analysis and MSME Lending Responsibilities
- Examine and interpret MSME client bank statements for financial patterns irregularities and income verification.
- Assess statement data to determine cash flow transactional behaviour and repayment capacity.
- Support the underwriting process by preparing concise standardised reports and financial summaries.
- Collaborate with loan officers credit analysts and compliance teams to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Identify potential risks and flag inconsistencies or potential fraud in applicant documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date records and audit trails in line with internal lending policies.
- Assist in continuous improvement of analytical methodologies and digital banking tools for more efficient MSME loan processing.
Who You Are Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as an Accountant Credit Analyst or similar financial role preferably within MSME or commercial lending environments.
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous approach to reviewing financial data and bank statements.
- Excellent understanding of MSME lending practices credit risk assessment and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficient with digital banking platforms financial analysis tools and MS Office Suite.
- Fluent in both Norwegian and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently uphold confidentiality and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Advantageous: Experience with automated bank statement analysis tools or previous work in the Nordic lending sector.
