Graduate Junior Project Manager
Role Overview
Were seeking a motivated and organised Junior Project Manager to support the coordination and delivery of digital and transformation initiatives across OCU. This role suits someone early in their project delivery career who enjoys bringing structure to work engaging with stakeholders and ensuring clear visibility of progress.
You will work under the guidance of senior project managers within the Digital Transformation function helping ensure projects follow governance standards align with business priorities and deliver value to operational teams. As your confidence grows you will take ownership of defined activities workstreams or small projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination & Delivery Support
Support senior PMs with planning scheduling and delivery coordination for digital and transformation projects.
Maintain project plans RAID logs action lists decisions and progress trackers.
Follow up on tasks and deadlines escalating delays early.
Coordinate with OCU Digital data teams operational stakeholders and suppliers to ensure progress.
2. Governance Reporting & Documentation
Produce structured meeting notes highlight reports status updates and decision logs.
Ensure all documentation meets Digital Transformation and PMO governance standards.
Support the preparation of updates for project forums steering groups and senior leadership.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
Assist with workshops planning meetings and project reviews.
Build early relationships with stakeholders such as SMEs operational leads product teams and digital colleagues.
Communicate updates clearly and ensure stakeholders are aware of next steps.
Escalate misalignment risks or concerns promptly.
4. Risk Issue & Dependency Management
Log risks issues assumptions and dependencies accurately.
Support mitigation planning and maintain clear ownership records.
Track follow-up actions with stakeholders and highlight emerging risks.
5. Scope Change & Controls
Support adherence to project scope and flag when change control is required.
Assist in gathering information for change impact assessments.
Ensure all change documentation follows established governance processes.
6. Planning & Delivery Alignment
Prioritise tasks with guidance from senior PMs to support delivery milestones.
Prepare agendas pre-reading RAID summaries and progress materials for delivery forums.
Track milestone achievement and ensure alignment with digital transformation timelines.
7. Continuous Learning & Improvement
Develop capability in planning RAID management stakeholder engagement and project governance.
Contribute to improving ways of working within the Digital Transformation team.
Build familiarity with OCU Digital platforms operational processes and core systems
Skills and Experience:
Essential Skills
Strong organisational and coordination skills.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Ability to capture structured notes actions and decisions.
Interest in digital delivery transformation and structured project management.
Positive proactive approach to learning and feedback.
Comfortable working with tools such as Excel SharePoint Teams and online collaboration platforms.
Desirable Skills
Exposure to project or PMO environments.
Understanding of basic project planning risks and issues.
Experience supporting digital technology or business change initiatives.
Familiarity with MS Project Miro Visio or similar tools.
