Job Summary:
This is a travel Occupational Therapist position at an Acute Care Medical Center/Long Term Care Facility/Outpatient facility. The role involves providing occupational therapy services working a 5x8 day shift schedule and potentially working weekends. The facility provides housing and a rental car/vehicle to travelers during the assignment.
Location:Kodiak Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services within the scope of practice.
- Chart patient information using Epic.
- Adhere to facility policies regarding housing and vehicle use.
- Clean housing unit upon departure to avoid additional cleaning fees.
- Clean vehicle before return and ensure it has a full tank of gas.
- Turn in the vehicle during time off and they will be issued a new vehicle when they return.
- Provide skilled nursing care case management and hospice care to individuals facing advancing age frailty and serious illness.
- Perform patient assessments medication administration treatment planning and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- BLS certification
- Active Occupational Therapist license
- Drivers license and proof of insurance
- Personal vehicle insurance policy must have rental car insurance to cover any accidents/damages to a rental car.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Previous travel experience
Special Considerations:
- On-call may be required.
- Weekend work is required.
- Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Housing units are typically large enough to accommodate only the traveler. Bringing additional family members is not common and needs to be approved by the facility.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Vehicles for traveler use are provided solely for use around town and should not be taken off-road or outside of 30-mile radius from facility.
- If you would like tire chains for vehicle this is will be an additional cost billed to traveler.
Scheduling:
- 5x8 day shifts
- Schedule is determined by the facility.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per 2 weeks.
- Traveler can be called off for 1 12 hour shift per 2 weeks.
