Telecom Wireless Services Provisioner
The telecom wireless services provisioner position is responsible for procuring tracking and delivery of off-net wireless data services for the entire Duke Energy telecommunications service territory. The provisioner works with various internal business customers internal Telecom personnel and external Telecom carriers to ensure provisioning and delivery of the most cost effective and efficient services to Duke Energy. This function is responsible for discrepancy resolution and assesses and optimizes telecom services throughout the Duke Energy territory.
Responsibilities:
Handle procurement change or disconnect requests for off-net wireless telecommunication services efficiently. Decide on the appropriate service ensure procurement procedures are followed and coordinate with providers to collect required order information. Track order progress with vendors escalate issues within carriers as needed and communicate delays or information needs to engineers customers or technicians. Notify customers upon completion provide assignments and accurately update circuit inventory systems.
Offer support with assessing choosing purchasing and managing wireless services and assets. This process involves collaborating with network and radio engineers to secure the most efficient and cost-effective services as well as utilizing enterprise telecommunication contracts to provide solutions that meet Duke Energys requirements. A wide-ranging understanding of telecom infrastructure wireless voice and data services the Duke Energy internal network and vendor contracts is essential. Advise project teams to help maximize the effectiveness of wireless telecommunications or to implement new technology.
Assist with reviewing billing for new wireless services to confirm vendors have priced correctly and circuit inventory matches services. Coordinate with vendor billing or invoicing analysts to resolve errors.
Maintain and audit circuit inventory accuracy. Collaborate to lower wireless service costs. Stay up-to-date on new telecom technologies at Duke Energy. Review and suggest process improvements.
Establish clear procedures for ordering tracking terminating circuits and coordinating with telecom and radio engineers to manage telecommunication services and changes.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with Telecommunication wireless voice and data services.
Self-starter takes the initiative to reach out to team members for guidance and escalate issues when they occur.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills including teamwork presentation and interpersonal skills.
One or more years information technology experience in managing asset lifecycle replacements or full life cycle asset management (i.e. circuits contracts).
Demonstrated analytical skills demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to develop and follow processes and procedures.
Previous experience with Carriers and Carrier portal systems. Proven Wireless technical expertise; Telecommunication experience knowledge of how wireless voice and data services are procured is essential knowledge and understanding of wireless terminology including Preferred Roaming Lists (PRLs) wireless networks 4G LTE 5G IP addressing SIM ESN IMEI MEID MDN.
Previous customer service type role preferably Telecom Carrier related.
Able to interact with customers to understand their real need versus what they may have described in the request.
Knowledge of SIM management and provisioning.
Prefer experience with Service Now and Jira work management type systems. TEM Inventory systems experience such as Rivermine.
