Role Overview
The Vehicle Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial buses ensuring maximum uptime safety and operational efficiency. The role requires strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles hands-on problem-solving ability and the capability to supervise semi-skilled technicians.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
Perform general servicing and maintenance of buses.
Replace and repair major components such as engines and gearboxes.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and government safety regulations.
Supervise and guide semi-skilled technicians in daily tasks.
Use diagnostic equipment and interpret maintenance manuals.
Apply best practices for maintaining Euro 6 engines.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanics / Mechanical Engineering (Masters degree is an advantage).
Vocational training (ITI or equivalent) with relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a workshop environment.
Proven experience handling heavy vehicles (buses/trucks).
Must-Have Skills:
Euro 6 engine maintenance
Gearbox and engine replacement
Handling diagnostic tools
Ability to interpret maintenance manuals.
Basic MS Office proficiency.
English proficiency: Minimum B2 level

Compensation & Benefits
Gross Annual Salary:(based on experience & skills).
Salary Structure: 13 salaries/year (12 months Christmas bonus).
Annual Increment: COLA (2%).
Working Hours: 40 hours/week (38 base 2 hrs overtime).
Working Days: 5 out of 7.
Overtime Pay:
Shift Differential: 5% for shifts after 2pm.
Accommodation: Private room in shared apartment (up to 25% salary deduction as per Cyprus law).
Utilities & Cleaning: Included (fair usage).
Food: Not provided.
Transportation: Free monthly bus pass (Nicosia district).
