Rooms Controller

The Rooms Controller is a key member of the Rooms Operations team responsible for maximizing room revenue managing inventory and overseeing the accuracy of reservations forecasts and daily operations. This role ensures that Bishops Lodge achieves occupancy and revenue goals while delivering a seamless guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily room inventory ensuring accurate forecasting availability and pricing across all distribution channels.

• Monitor reservations cancellations and room assignments to optimize occupancy and revenue.

• Collaborate closely with Front Office Reservations and Sales teams to ensure room availability aligns with operational needs.

• Analyze market trends occupancy patterns and historical data to make informed recommendations for pricing and inventory management.

• Generate and distribute daily weekly and monthly reports on occupancy revenue and forecast accuracy.

• Identify opportunities for upselling and maximizing room revenue.

• Support the team in audit reporting and reconciliation of room charges and inventory discrepancies.

• Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment of operations with overall property goals.

• Train and mentor front office staff on proper room management procedures and systems.

• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications :

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in hotel revenue management front office or reservations.

• Strong understanding of room inventory management revenue optimization and distribution channels.

• Proficiency with hotel management systems (e.g. Opera Fidelio) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.

• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication leadership and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced guest-focused environment.

• Passion for hospitality and dedication to creating memorable guest experiences.
