Job Summary

Title: Program Manager (Preference for Cards / Financial Domain Experience)
Location: Berkeley Heights NJ (3 days onsite) & Princeton NJ (2 days onsite per client schedule)
Job Type: Contract
Duration: Long Term

Position Summary

Seeking a seasoned Program Manager to lead multiple programs and projects ensuring strategic alignment efficient execution and successful delivery of business outcomes. The ideal candidate will guide cross-functional teams drive program strategy represent steering committees and foster collaboration to meet client and organizational goals.

The candidate should be capable of building strong client relationships and overseeing program planning operations and management across diverse workstreams.
Requires 10 years of IT experience including at least 8 years in the Banking/Financial domain with strong exposure to cards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for managing diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management (70%)

1. Program Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute program strategies aligned with business goals

  • Conduct stakeholder engagement market assessments and competitive research

2. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams (program/project managers and technical leads)

  • Promote collaboration and support team development

3. End-to-End Program Oversight

  • Manage the full program lifecycle from initiation through delivery

  • Oversee scope timelines budget and quality

4. Stakeholder Management

  • Provide updates on program progress risks and issues

  • Build strong relationships with executives customers and partners

5. Risk Management

  • Identify evaluate and mitigate program risks

  • Create and implement contingency plans

6. Process Improvement

  • Develop and introduce process enhancements

  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and governance standards

Operational Responsibilities (20%)

  • Manage resource planning and allocation

  • Support hiring onboarding and offboarding processes

  • Assist in conflict resolution across project teams

Delivery & Leadership (10%)

  • Act as a key liaison to the Delivery organization; support escalation management

  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure client satisfaction

  • Lead steering committee meetings and prepare executive-level presentations

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Plan organize and manage diverse teams within Agile or Hybrid project environments

  • Track project KPIs milestones and overall progress

  • Continuously monitor program status and follow up with team leads

  • Develop streamlined processes project charters and project plans

  • Handle resource management across multiple workstreams

  • Support Delivery Leads with reporting and forecasting

  • Identify and manage risks issues dependencies and action items

  • Maintain transparency and produce high-quality deliverables

  • Understand customer accounts and identify new opportunities

  • Facilitate leadership discussions and client communications

  • Participate in budgeting and maintain delivery forecasts and pipelines

  • Track delivery metrics and manage stakeholder interactions

  • Ensure adherence to governance deadlines and risk protocols

  • Oversee statements of work requirements and RFP responses

  • Collaborate with clients to resolve issues and ensure alignment

  • Manage change control processes

  • Work with operations teams to ensure smooth resource ramp-up

  • Establish a PMO structure to monitor and govern deliverables

  • Handle reporting metrics and risk controls

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1216 years of IT experience with strong preference for Cards / Financial domain

  • Proven leadership and program/project management expertise

  • Strong time management financial management and organizational skills

  • Ability to adapt to fast-changing environments

  • Deep understanding of SDLC both Waterfall and Agile methodologies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience communicating expectations across technical and business teams

  • Proficiency in PM tools: MS Project Jira Jira boards Confluence MS Office

  • Program management certifications (PMP PgMP) preferred
