HSHS St. Elizabeths Hospital is seeking a PRN Respiratory Care Assistant to join our team. Breathing is essential to our health and well-being. Certified Respiratory Therapists are professionally trained individuals who help patients experiencing difficulty breathing ensuring they are able to grow develop and thrive. Under the direction of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner they conduct patient assessments and administer physician-prescribed treatments therapies and procedures in alignment with organizational policies and best practice guidelines. They monitor patient safety and responses to interventions operate and maintain respiratory equipment and document accurately in the electronic medical record. Additionally they uphold competence in departmental procedures HIPAA standards and quality assurance protocols.
Education Qualifications
  • Actively enrolled and in good standing in a Respiratory Therapy program or within 6 months post-graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program with pending licensure OR a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner without successful certification completion by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
