Some of the children in our care dont need big displays they need patience understanding and an adult who helps them feel safe supported and celebrated for who they are.
Were working with a warm inclusive SEN Unit in Haringey that is seeking a calm dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The setting prides itself on providing a nurturing structured environment where every childs unique needs are met with compassion consistency and expertise.
The children youll support have a range of special educational needs and each has their own strengths challenges and ways of communicating. They need adults who can follow personalised plans encourage independence and adapt learning and interactions to suit their individual profiles. This is a setting where staff work closely value each others strengths and celebrate every small step of progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with personalised learning plans and individualised targets
- Assist with communication sensory regulation and social interaction
- Provide calm nurturing support to help children feel safe and ready to learn
- Adapt activities to meet a range of learning and developmental needs
- Support with care routines where necessary (e.g. feeding toileting mobility)
- Work collaboratively with the SEN team therapists and teachers
- Ensure the health safety and wellbeing of all students in your care
