Wayman Education is seeking a dedicated organised and creative Art Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Norwich on a full-time basis with an immediate start available. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the day-to-day functioning of the Art department ensuring lessons are well-prepared resources are easily accessible and students can work in a safe inspiring and professionally managed studio environment. This role would be ideal for someone with an interest in the arts strong practical skills and a passion for supporting young people in developing their creative talents.
As the Art Technician you will support both teachers and students in a variety of ways including:
Preparing materials and equipment for Art lessons across KS3KS4 including paints pastels clay canvas printmaking supplies textiles digital resources and mixed media.
Assisting with the maintenance organisation and safe storage of art materials ensuring all classrooms and studio spaces remain clean well-presented and ready for use.
Supporting students during practical lessons offering guidance with processes such as painting techniques clay work printmaking digital editing and portfolio preparation.
Helping to curate and mount displays of student artwork around the school maintaining high visual standards and ensuring work is presented with care and professionalism.
Managing stock levels effectively monitoring usage patterns organising bulk orders and keeping accurate inventory records.
Ensuring all equipment is used safely and following departmental proceduresincluding cleaning tools maintaining studio spaces managing drying racks monitoring sharp equipment and preparing classrooms for the next teaching session.
Assisting with GCSE coursework organisation including sketchbook preparation presentation advice and ensuring materials are available during controlled assessment periods.
Supporting the planning and execution of exhibitions open evenings enrichment days or art events held by the school.
Collaborating closely with the Head of Art and wider department to ensure smooth and effective delivery of the curriculum.

The salary for this Art Technician position will be paid to scale based on experience and qualifications.
