Job Summary

Electrical Panel Builder (Manufacturing)
Elkton MD

Our client is seeking an Electrical Panel Builder to support their project group in Elkton MD. The panel builder will be responsible for assembling wiring and testing custom electrical control panels for equipment skids and conduit runs for industrial air pollution control systems installed around the world.

Responsibilities:

Panel Assembly & Wiring
*Build electrical control panels according to schematics wiring diagrams and layout drawings.
*Install terminate and wire components such as relays breakers PLCs VFDs power supplies contactors and terminal blocks.
*Route label and organize wiring to meet company and industry quality standards.
*Perform mechanical panel fabrication including drilling tapping cutting and mounting.

Skid Wiring & Field Assembly
*Perform complete wiring of industrial skids equipment packages or modular systems.
*Install sensors motors junction boxes switches indicator lights conduit bodies and instrumentation wiring on skids.
*Run and terminate power and control wiring between panels devices and equipment.
*Work with project engineers to ensure wiring matches layout load lists and control logic requirements.

Conduit Installation
*Measure bend and install conduit (EMT rigid or flexible depending on job requirements).
*Cut thread assemble and mount conduit runs according to prints and NEC standards.
*Pull and terminate control and power wire through installed conduit systems.
*Ensure conduit systems are clean secure and professionally installed.

Quality Control & Testing
*Perform continuity checks point-to-point testing and functional testing of panels and skid systems.
*Troubleshoot wiring issues miswires grounding problems and faulty components.
*Inspect all work for compliance with drawings electrical codes and customer requirements.

Documentation & Production Support
*Follow electrical schematics BOMs and work instructions accurately.
*Record changes or deviations and communicate with engineering for revisions.
*Assist with material identification inventory checks and preparation for builds.
*Maintain clean and organized work areas.

Safety & Compliance
*Follow proper electrical safety practices including lockout/tagout.
*Ensure work complies with NEC OSHA and (if applicable) UL508A standards.
*Use tools and test equipment safely and properly.


Qualifications:

*Experience as an Electrical Panel Builder Industrial Electrician Electrical Assembler or similar role.
*Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and conduit layouts.
*Experience wiring skids machinery or process equipment.
*Ability to bend and install conduit and pull wire.
*Proficiency using multimeters crimpers conduit benders and basic hand tools.
*Strong attention to detail and pride in clean organized wiring.
*Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work standing or crouching for extended periods.
*UL508A panel building experience
*Experience with PLC automation and instrumentation wiring
*Mechanical assembly or fabrication experience
*Ability to read P&IDs or control logic diagrams
*Electrical trade school or certification
