Regional Queensland Leadership Clinical Role FRANZCOG
A major regional hospital in Queensland is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking FRANZCOG Specialist to step into the pivotal role of Clinical Director of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a growing service shape strategic direction and influence the future of womens health across a broad regional catchment while continuing to maintain hands-on clinical practice.
The Opportunity
As Clinical Director you will oversee the O&G service within a connected regional network ensuring safe contemporary and sustainable care across maternity gynaecology and reproductive health services.
You will lead a passionate team of consultants registrars midwives and multidisciplinary clinicians and work collaboratively with neighbouring regional hospitals to provide coordinated and consistent care for women and families.
This role offers a balanced mix of executive leadership and clinical contribution with up to 0.5 FTE dedicated to clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the O&G department
Maintain an active clinical workload in obstetrics and gynaecology
Drive clinical governance safety and quality improvement initiatives
Strengthen workforce development supervision and training
Collaborate across regional and rural facilities to support an integrated network of care
Ensure service sustainability and uphold high standards of patient-centred care
Foster a positive inclusive and high-performing team culture
About You
You are a senior O&G specialist with:
- FRANZCOG (mandatory)
- AHPRA Specialist Registration or eligibility
- Strong clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology
- Demonstrated leadership capability and interest in service development
- A collaborative inclusive approach to team management
- Passion for advancing womens health in regional communities
- Commitment to education clinical excellence and governance
