Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse PACU
Location: Pagosa Springs CO
Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 8-hour shifts
Position Summary
Seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to support post-anesthesia care services within an acute hospital environment. The RN will provide safe high-quality recovery care to patients emerging from surgical and procedural anesthesia ensuring thorough monitoring and timely clinical interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide post-anesthesia nursing care including monitoring vital signs managing pain and assessing patient stability.
Collaborate with surgical teams anesthesia providers and recovery room staff to ensure smooth transitions of care.
Administer medications perform assessments and document patient progress accurately.
Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
Educate patients and families regarding post-operative expectations and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies regulatory standards and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Active RN license (state of Colorado or compact).
Experience in PACU ICU ER or another critical-care environment preferred.
ACLS and BLS certification required (PALS may be preferred depending on facility).
Strong clinical assessment communication and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment.
