Our Organization and Mission:
The Division of Real Estate (DRE) is responsible for the examination licensing and regulation of 500000 real estate and appraisal professionals. The Division provides administrative support to the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) and the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB). The Divisions objectives are to protect the public through the effective licensure of new professionals renewal of qualified license holders and appropriate and timely regulation of the real estate industry. The Divisions mission is to be a trusted resource to licensees and the public through improved customer service and education.
This position is based at our downtown Orlando headquarters.
The Work You Will Do:
Collaborate directly with the Executive Director to prepare and brief board members on agenda items financial matters legislative updates rulemaking activity enforcement cases application processing and policy issues. Support the Executive Director in the supervision evaluation and development of board staff including planning workflows setting performance objectives and conducting regular team reviews. Participate in hiring processes performance reviews and disciplinary actions for staff providing guidance and leadership throughout. Coordinate implementation of updates to business processes to support efficiency and compliance.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Identify and resolve operational and procedural issues impacting board functions ensuring alignment with departmental goals and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Assist in developing policies and procedures related to board meetings and department programs including analyzing proposed legislative or procedural changes and offering informed recommendations. Oversee and coordinate the preparation execution and follow-up of board meetings ensuring that staff assignments are completed timely and accurately. Ensure timely dissemination of administrative agendas and materials to board members and stakeholders.
Serve as a liaison for internal and external communications regarding board activities maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring transparency and responsiveness.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proven leadership experience in regulatory governmental or board operations setting. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects lead teams and implement policy changes. Strong understanding of Florida statutes and administrative procedures related to professional licensing and regulation. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with executive leadership legal counsel board members and the public. Experience with agenda planning meeting facilitation and official records preparation is highly desirable.
