The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and student-focused Placement Officer to support the successful coordination and delivery of Work Based Training and employment this role you will help students secure quality work placements build strong relationships with employers and guide students toward meaningful employment opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about student success enjoys building partnerships and thrives in a fast-paced service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work Based Training Coordination: Deliver orientation sessions prepare students for workplace training arrange and record placements collect required documentation and maintain ongoing communication with host employers.
  • Employer & Student Engagement: Build strong relationships with employers source new placement opportunities conduct visits gather feedback and follow up on future opportunities.
  • Student Employment Support: Assist students with job search activities including mock interviews SEEK profile creation responding to job ads and identifying suitable paid work opportunities.
  • Administration & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in the Student Management System prepare placement portfolios publish job updates and collect student success stories.
  • Workplace Safety & Compliance: Promote safe work practices report hazards and comply with occupational health and safety policies.
  • Organisational Contribution: Support continuous improvement initiatives uphold the Colleges values and assist with administrative tasks and other duties as directed.

About You

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage confidently with employers and students
  • Excellent networking communication and customer service abilities
  • Highly organised able to manage multiple placements and employment activities simultaneously
  • Proactive solutions-focused and committed to helping students succeed
  • Experience in employment services recruitment business development sales/marketing or a customer service-focused role
  • Able to create positive partnerships with external organisations to expand placement and employment opportunities
  • A collaborative team member who contributes to a supportive and inclusive work environment
