JOB TITLE: DME / Bracing Specialist
FLSA STATUS (Exempt/Non-Exempt): Non-Exempt
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to TBD
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: NONE
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven DME / Bracing Specialist to join the ASAP team. This individual will engage targeted patients educate them on the benefits of bracing perform proper fittings and ensure timely ordering. The ideal candidate combines patient-focused education with strong sales skills to drive adoption and utilization of bracing solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Engage with patients referred by providers to discuss the role and value of bracing in their treatment plan.
  • Deliver compelling patient education and consultation that results in successful brace adoption.
  • Accurately measure and fit patients for braces ensuring comfort safety and satisfaction.
  • Manage the ordering process end-to-end coordinating with vendors and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Achieve and exceed patient conversion and order volume goals contributing to practice revenue.
  • Partner with providers and care teams to identify bracing opportunities and maximize patient capture.
  • Maintain accurate compliant documentation of all patient interactions fittings and orders.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on bracing solutions for both patients and clinic staff.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma/GED Certificate
EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in sales patient education or customer-facing healthcare roles; DME or bracing background preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence decisions and drive adoption of products or services.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate professional approach.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Clinical Setting: Most of the work will take place in a medical office or outpatient pain management clinic. The specialist will interact daily with patients providers and staff.
  • Patient-Facing Role: A large portion of the day will involve direct patient interaction educating consulting measuring and fitting braces.
  • Collaborative Team Environment: Frequent coordination with physicians nurse practitioners medical assistants and front office staff.
  • Sales-Oriented Environment: Though healthcare-based there will be performance metrics tied to patient conversions order volumes and revenue contribution.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Physical Activity: Requires standing bending measuring patients and physically fitting braces. May involve lifting/moving equipment or boxes of DME supplies.
  • Fast-Paced: Patient volume may be high so efficiency and multitasking are important.
  • Structured but Flexible: There will likely be a set clinic schedule (typical business hours MondayFriday) but the pace will vary depending on patient flow.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Significant time spent on accurate patient documentation and order processing often using EMR systems.
  • Sales Pressure: Some pressure to meet conversion and order volume targets while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
  • Travel (possible but limited): If the practice has multiple clinics there may be occasional travel between locations to see patients or deliver braces.
