Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have atleast five years of recent experience as an automotive diesel engine heavyequipment mechanic and at least one year of experience working independently asa lead mechanic. Applicants must also have experience using computertesting or diagnostic equipment on vehicle diesel engines heavy equipment.
NOTE: Qualifyingeducation training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge skillsand abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
The candidate must be available to respond outside of standard workinghours including both day and night shifts and be on-call 24/7 in emergencysituations or as required. A current Alabama Drivers License with an insurabledriving record is mandatory. The candidate must be willing to obtain an AlabamaCommercial Drivers License. A valid Commercial Drivers License (Class A) fromthe State of Alabama is required or must be obtained within six (6) months ofemployment.
The candidate must be able to attend out-of-town specialized trainingsessions as necessary to maintain or enhance skills.
The role requires the physical ability to lift and maneuver heavyequipment engine components and body parts such as batteries and brakedrums weighing between 50-100 pounds both with and without assistance. Thecandidate must be capable of standing for extended periods of up to 3-4 hoursto perform repairs and have the ability to stoop bend and crouch as requiredduring maintenance tasks.
