The Manager-Investment Accounting will be responsible for managing the accounting for the assets that support Everlakes new reinsurance transactions. This individual will provide accounting insight on investment decisions perform analysis of investment results and engage with cedents and the external investment manager to ensure accurate accounting. The Manager-Investment Accounting will need to develop a deep understanding of the reinsurance transactions including investment guidelines and trust requirements. This individual will work closely with Everlakes Investment and Corporate Development teams Everlakes external investment manager and third party cedents.
This role requires attention to detail and strong communication skills. The successful candidate must be intellectually curious detail oriented and able to operate effectively within a dynamic and evolving organization.
Manage the accounting for the investments that support new reinsurance transactions by developing a detailed understanding of the reinsurance transactions investment strategy and investment structures
Work directly with Everlakes Investment team and 3rd party cedents to ensure investment transactions are recorded completely and accurately
Identify issues and process improvements and work with Investments Everlakes external investment manager Clearwater investment software and cedents to implement solutions and resolve issues
Support the timely and accurate preparation and review of Statutory and GAAP financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant regulations guidance and reinsurance agreements
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. A masters degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g. CPA CMA) is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment or insurance accounting and financial reporting
An understanding of financial reporting standards (GAAP STAT) and regulatory compliance
Knowledge of investment and insurance principles and best practices and a strong grasp of reinsurance concepts
Strategic mindset with the ability to align accounting goals with broader business objectives
A strong understanding of and experience in the execution of financial reporting controls
Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Integrity and ethical leadership promoting a culture of accountability and professionalism within the team.
Proven track record in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team
Strong organizational and project management abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines and priorities
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP Oracle Workday) Clearwater and MS Excel
Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and techniques for data analysis process automation and financial reporting enhancements
