Job Summary

Locum Physician - Gastroenterology

Join a leading healthcare provider in Richmond VA and become a part of a dynamic team at a well-established hospital. This facility is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care focusing on adult gastroenterology within a hospital setting that includes an onsite lab and X-ray services. We are seeking a locum physician to fill crucial weekend shifts due to a lack of coverage.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive patient care in gastroenterology handling both outpatient and inpatient cases.
Perform a variety of gastroenterology procedures including but not limited to:

Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
Colonoscopy
Upper GI Endoscopy
Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
Liver Biopsy
Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube

Manage and coordinate care through the Epic EMR system.
Be available for 24-hour call shifts on weekends taking up to 8 procedures per weekend on average.

Qualifications:

Board Certified in Gastroenterology REQUIRED
Active Virginia medical license REQUIRED
Flu shot vaccination REQUIRED
COVID vaccination HIGHLY PREFERRED
Clean malpractice history necessary for temporary privileges REQUIRED
Ability to perform ERCP REQUIRED

License and Certification Requirements:

Must possess a valid Virginia medical license.
Board certification in Gastroenterology is a must.
All providers must have adequate malpractice coverage with a requirement of $2.6 million effective 7/01/2023.
