About the Role
Redhorse Corporation is seeking a highly skilledDatabase Administrator to support mission-critical systems for a federal customer. The successful candidate will design implement and maintain large-scale SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments that ensure reliability performance and security. This role plays a key part in sustaining the customers data operations improving database performance and supporting operational readiness across enterprise systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install configure upgrade and maintain large-scale Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases in operational environments.
- Develop optimize and maintain stored procedures database models and data structures to support application and analytics needs.
- Leverage third-party database tools (e.g. Red Gate) to enhance administration versioning and performance workflows.
- Implement and maintain high-availability redundancy and disaster recovery architectures to support mission-critical operations.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues within production Windows desktop application environments and supporting database services.
- Conduct query performance tuning execute bulk data loading and streamline data processing operations.
- Monitor database health capacity and performance to sustain 24/7 availability and ensure compliance with security and mission requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related discipline.
- 3 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL in production environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Performance tuning and optimization
- Query debugging and issue resolution
- Stored procedures indexing strategies and data modeling
- Bulk-loading techniques and data movement
- Familiarity with Red Gate or similar database administration tools.
- Experience implementing disaster recovery backup and high-availability solutions.
- Active Top Secret clearance required.
- Ability to provide on-call support for mission-critical database systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator or PostgreSQL Professional Certification.
- Experience managing cloud-based database services (AWS RDS Azure SQL).
- Familiarity with federal security standards including FISMA and NIST frameworks.
