Job Description
Job Title: Process Engineer Grinding & Honing
Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager - DGBB
Role Type: Team Management
Location: Chinchwad Pune
Purpose of the role:
- Responsible for working on identified plant-level process improvement and process implementation activities and execution of new product development. Also provide technical assistance and solutions for smooth running of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Cycle time improvement: Drive process improvements in identified manufacturing processes for cycle time reduction.
- Work on New Product development (APQP processes) on channel to ensure right process design and achieve product characteristics as per SKF specifications.
- Introduction of new abrasives (Grinding Wheel Honing stones & Dressing tools) for Quality & output improvement with cost effectiveness.
- Takes part in PFMEA Control plan and other channel documents for New Product Development and revision of existing products.
- Works on technology improvement projects like vision system robotics and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Capacity Expansion: Leads Machine Qualification by using Techniques like FAT and SAT.
- Works on ECR for effective implementation of change management.
- Release Process flow diagram Set up chart process validation report & Process Drawings for new product development.
Metrics:
- Cycle time Improvement and Fixing deviation.
- No. of New product Developed.
- Productivity Improvement and OEE Improvement.
- Installation of new machines & equipment.
Competencies:
- Sound Knowledge of Grinding Honing and Assembly process.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Good Understanding of Process Flow diagrams PFEA Control Plan and MSA.
- Machine Qualification Technique FAT and SAT.
- Learning Agility problem-solving mindset
- Exposure to advanced manufacturing techniques digitization and robotics. Low-cost automation
- Effective team player
Candidate Profile:
- 5 to 8 yrs. of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engg.
- Bachelors in Engg. (Mechanical/Industrial/Production)
