DescriptionPerforms complex technical work; managing implementing and supporting various student information technology systems. Responsible for producing and delivering student data files. Leads the work of project team members. Performs other duties as assigned.
ResponsibilitiesEXAMPLES OF DUTIES: - Coordinates the work of project team members. Participates in multiple student information system projects. Plans coordinates and oversees various projects. Develops prioritizes and schedules tasks. Prepares estimates of project time.
- Maintains accounts and is responsible for security functionality in the student information system.
- Collaborates and assists with problem solving and trouble-shooting activities for the production events related to student information systems.
- Develops custom forms and reports within third party products. Produces ad hoc reports for student information.
- Develops automated solutions to meet users requirements. Conducts in-depth analysis of systems operations procedures and requests.
- Provides technical and analytical expertise when responding to complex specialized report requests requiring sophisticated data analyses and data management experience.
- Develops modifies maintains and continuously improves reporting processes. Produces and submits state reporting files.
- Collaborates with schools and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to reconcile state reporting files and correct errors.
- Serves as a system administrator for the various student information systems.
- Provides tier two support for student information systems.
- Research issues to determine the source of discrepancies and identify solutions for preventing future discrepancies.
- Provides quality assurance on data inputs outputs and files. Coordinates with staff to correct data issues.
- Serves as point of contact for multiple vendors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Training and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in computer information systems management computer science or related field. Three years related experience in student information reporting and analysis.
- Experience in the Focus student information system preferred.
- Masters degree and experience working with K-12 or higher education student information systems preferred.
- Note::Other combination of applicable education training and experience which provide the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- The work of this class is sedentary and performed in an office environment. Work includes the operation of office equipment including personal computers.

GRADE:
Grade 07 - 12 Month OPE Pay Scale

Employees in this class may be assigned to work nights evenings weekends and/or holidays. Employees are subject to call to duty in emergencies and may be required to work beyond their regularly scheduled hours with little advanced notice.
