Job Summary

Senior Audio Engineers are members of the Edgar Stanton Audio Recording Center (ESARC) team. This team is responsible for recording performances for the eight-week summer festival providing live sound reinforcement and producing livestreams. ESARC staff work as part of the Meadows Campus production staff and report to the Director of Audio and Media Production for recording work and to the Head of Live Audio on live sound calls.


Responsibilities

  • Record a wide variety of performing ensembles encompassing symphonic orchestras recitals chamber ensembles operas choral groups and new music ensembles in a variety of venues including the Klein Music Tent Harris Concert Hall and the Wheeler Opera House.
  • Provide live sound support including loading in speaker systems patching inputs/outputs running sound checks setting up keyboard instruments and mixing FOH or monitors.
  • Participate in livestream concert production including camera operation score reading graphics and stream monitoring.
  • Work independently as a project leader mentoring more junior audio engineers.
  • Assist the Director of Audio and Media Production as needed with team leadership tasks such as scheduling quality control and interaction with artists and administration.
Requirements
  • Broad experience and training in recording and editing classical music and/or providing sound reinforcement for a variety of music genres.
  • Degree in audio engineering and at least one year of professional experience or 2 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A positive attitude strong work ethic attention to detail and good organization and communication skills.
  • Experience leading a team of fellow engineers is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Pro Tools and Reaper DAWs is preferred. Experience in multiple other DAWs will be considered.
  • Livestreaming utilizes Aja encoders Vimeo hosting cameras by Canon and BlackMagic Design switchers.
  • Commitment to a team effort throughout the course of the summer program.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States be able to lift boxes up to 50 lbs or greater weights in tandem with other crew members and have a valid drivers license.

Compensation

$19/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $5.16/hour depending on location.) Overtime $28.50/hour

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.
