Job Title: Project Manager South
Location: Grays Essex (with occasional travel to South Wales)
Salary: Negotiable (dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Full-time - Permanent Staff
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of engineering projects across our terminal and on an ad-hoc basis our terminal in South Wales. Travel to South Wales will be minimal (a few times per year) and all expenses will be covered.
The role involves managing Sustaining Maintenance & Reliability projects (typically 20k1M) and Growth CAPEX projects (value subject to customer requirements). You will be responsible for delivering projects from cradle to grave including design procurement construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously each at different stages and of varying complexity and value (50k400k occasionally up to 1M).
- Develop scopes of work cost estimates and tender documentation.
- Oversee procurement processes and contractor management.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in high-hazard environments.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Maintain strong stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycle.
Typical Projects Include:
- Tank inspection and repair
- Secondary containment and civil upgrades
- Fire system upgrades
- EC&I (Electrical Control & Instrumentation) upgrades
- Piping inspections and pipework upgrades
- Jetty and marine infrastructure improvements
Experience with tank turnaround and tank farm operations is highly advantageous.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering background with strong technical understanding.
- Minimum 7years experience in project management within brownfield high-hazard industries.
- Familiarity with hazardous areas and flammable atmospheres.
- Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end including design procurement construction and commissioning.
- Self-sufficient and comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently.
