This position will serve in the Flex Lab at Hoover providing credit recovery for high school students in a variety of mathematics courses.

Required:
- Valid Iowa teaching license (appropriate endorsement code for teaching assignment).
- Knowledge of subject curriculum effective teaching methods.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications.
Desired:
- Previous classroom teaching experience.
- Experience in an urban school district.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet childrens academic and social-emotional needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deliver daily lessons aligned to state and district standards that meet students individual needs and ensure growth.
- Create a culturally inclusive classroom that meets the academic and social emotional needs of students.
- Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan for instruction analyze data and create assessments.
- Monitor student learning on a daily basis. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction.
- Communicate with families on a regular basis.
- Participate in professional development.
- Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Standing walking sitting bending/stooping reaching/pushing/pulling lifting carrying
WORKING CONDITIONS:Mostly indoors with some outdoor responsibilities during recess and arrival/dismissal
