Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Brinks Company is looking for a Claims Analyst to support the development implementation and oversight of its risk management claims handling and insurance programs with a primary focus on Workers Compensation. This role will serve as a strategic partner in managing claims administered by multiple third-party administrators (TPAs) ensuring compliance financial accuracy and timely resolution. The position requires cross-functional collaboration and availability across time zones.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Claims Analyst will be expected to perform various duties and responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Claims Oversight & Strategy

    • Actively manage and oversee open Workers Compensation claims with the TPAs (claim administrators) and carriers.

    • Review and challenge reserve recommendations develop resolution strategies and coordinate alignment with internal authority and financial exposure.

    • Monitor claim activity for timely and compliant handling including escalation of high-exposure or complex claims to Sr. Manager Risk Management & Insurance.

  • Reserve & Financial Coordination

    • Collaborate with TPAs and internal stakeholders to confirm reserves are accurate justified and aligned with actuarial methodology.

    • Support actuarial reviews accruals and financial reporting by interpreting claim reserve data and identifying trends.

  • Compliance & Reporting

    • Confirm claims handling practices comply with applicable state regulations carrier expectations and internal policies.

    • Complete data requests for monthly/quarterly reports allocations renewals audits and ad hoc analysis.

  • Incident Response & Claim Administration

    • Oversee daily incident reporting to TPAs and act as a resource to Brinks locations and management when incidents occur.

    • Support intake processes and ensure proper documentation and triage of new claims.

  • Litigation & Documentation Support

    • Coordinate with assigned outside counsel adjusters branches safety and operations teams to compile and produce relevant documents for litigated cases.

    • Liaise with external counsel adjusters and carriers to support case strategy and resolution.

  • Return-to-Work & Injury Management

    • Partner with Branches Human Resources Absence team and Safety to support return-to-work initiatives and injury management strategies that reduce claim duration and cost.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Maintain strong relationships with insurers TPAs brokers consultants vendors and internal departments.

    • Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of risk and claims programs.

  • Best Practices & Innovation

    • Identify evaluate and implement industry best practices in claims and risk management.

    • Recommend process improvements and technology improvements to streamline operations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

5-7 years Workers Compensation experience in claims insurance or risk management role

High School diploma required college degree preferred

Strong understanding of risk management insurance principles claim handling guidelines regulatory compliance and best practices

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and legal processes related to workers compensation

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Detail-oriented and organized

High level of professionalism diplomacy and tact ensuring the confidentiality of information when required

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Proficiency in Excel PowerPoint and Risk Management and Claim Management Systems

Strong analytical and interpretive skills; ability to identify trends and cost drivers Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
