Farmers believes in a culture of collaboration creativity and innovation which thrives when we have the ability to work flexibly in a virtual setting as well as the opportunity to be together in person. Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. Job Summary

This role is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of Claims training and development to ensure accurate timely and compliant outcomes while optimizing expense structures. The leader will drive initiatives that align people technology and learning programs with our vision of positioning Claims as an industry benchmark for quality and efficiency.

Essential Job Functions

This position requires a visionary strategic leader who can integrate innovation with operational excellence to elevate Claims performance and talent development.

  • Leading the design and delivery of training programs that build technical mastery and leadership capabilities across the Claims organization including FBS (Farmers Business Services) staff.
  • Overseeing systems and processes that enable scalable high-impact content creation and delivery.
  • Leveraging AI and innovative technologies to enhance onboarding proficiency and retention while fostering superior customer experiences and high employee engagement.
  • Develop and implement innovative training strategies to strengthen technical expertise and leadership capabilities across Claims and Claims FBS staff. Identify critical skill gaps and design tailored learning paths that foster career growth and organizational excellence.
  • Optimize vendor partnerships to ensure cost-effectiveness and high-quality outcomes. Establish robust frameworks to integrate vendor solutions with homegrown learning content aligning with operational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership to drive transformation initiatives and align strategies with enterprise goals. Collaborate with senior executives to execute business priorities seamlessly. Champion AI integration and technology adoption to enhance accuracy efficiency customer experience and employee engagement.
  • Lead the evolution of Claims training in alignment with enterprise objectives ensuring consistency across all lines of business. Partner with the University of Farmers to deliver impactful leadership development programs that accelerate career growth and build a pipeline of proficient Claims professionals.
  • Advance operational efficiency and superior outcomes through collaboration with technology teams to implement AI-enabled solutions that optimize workflows for frontline staff and customers. Position the organization as an industry leader in quality outcomes and expense management.
  • Leverage this role as a platform for executive development providing exposure to strategic planning and high-level decision-making to strengthen leadership capabilities across the organization.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in Learning & Development or Human Resources with 5 years in people leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale transformation initiatives; strong background in P&C Claims training and organizational development.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree preference to Business Administration Organizational Development or Human Resources; Masters degree or MBA preferred.

Special Skill Requirement

  • Expertise in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships to meet organizational objectives.
  • Proficient in designing innovative training programs and creating engaging effective learning materials.
  • Skilled in identifying upskilling opportunities and developing tailored learning paths to support career growth.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning methodologies and experience in building comprehensive learning curricula.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and modern content delivery methods to enhance learning experiences.
  • Strong ability to manage partnerships with exchanges and management companies to support strategic goals.

This role requires up to 25% travel to support in-person training delivery vendor and partner engagements team development activities and cross-site initiatives. Travel may include visits to operational centers vendor locations or corporate offices and will be planned in alignment with business priorities and team needs.

Physical Actions

This role whether performed virtually or in an office setting will include normal and customary distractions noise and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees including bending twisting pulling and stooping. Occasionally moves lifts carries and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. / Listens to interprets and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands arms and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
