A specialist healthcare service is seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team on an 18-bed male and female Eating Disorder Ward. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.
The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient mental health services in a safe and supportive environment focused on helping patients live their best life.
What youll be doing
You will join a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing using a personalised evidence-based approach to support recovery.
Key responsibilities include:
Taking clinical responsibility for patients including multidisciplinary ward rounds risk reviews strategic reviews and developing a therapeutic environment.
Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
Supervising referral and admission processes including contributing to pre-admission assessments.
Providing a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment formulation and treatment.
Participating in management and clinical governance meetings and contributing to service development and strategy.

The ideal candidate will:
Be a strong team player with experience in multidisciplinary assessment formulation and management planning.
Hold full GMC registration be on the relevant Specialist Register and provide evidence of registration when required.
Hold a CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in the appropriate area of Psychiatry.
Have experience working in inpatient settings with individuals facing significant mental health challenges.
