Job Summary

Centre College invites applications for two tenured or tenure-track faculty positions as Assistant or Associate Professor of Engineering beginning in August 2026. For one of the two positions preference will be given to candidates in mechanical aerospace or materials engineering. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who are committed to undergraduate education will contribute to the depth of our faculty support our flourishing student body and utilize a variety of pedagogical practices. These faculty positions present an exciting opportunity to help build a new general engineering program with the goal of attaining ABET accreditation within four years. New faculty will teach core engineering coursessuch as first-year engineering computer-aided design programming mechanics materials or capstone designand will also have the chance to develop upper-level electives aligned with their expertise. They will join a collaborative and supportive program dedicated to inclusive teaching and to student engagement beyond the classroom through academic advising and mentored research which is both expected and supported. Competitive startup funding is provided.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. by the time of appointment. Candidates with a Ph.D. in engineering or with a Ph.D. in physics and an undergraduate or masters degree in engineering will be considered.
