The Opportunity
When you join PwC Acceleration Centers (ACs) you step into a pivotal role focused on actively supporting various Acceleration Center services from Advisory to Assurance Tax and Business our innovative hubs youll engage in challenging projects and provide distinctive services to support client engagements through enhanced quality and innovation. Youll also participate in dynamic and digitally enabled training that is designed to grow your technical and professional skills.
As part of the Software and Product Innovation team you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for driving modernization initiatives and managing client relationships. As a Director you will set the strategic direction for large-scale modernization engagements guiding clients through critical decisions and developing thorough roadmaps that align with their business objectives. This role offers the chance to leverage your broad experience in modernization strategy while mentoring the next generation of leaders in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

What You Must Have
- Bachelors Degree
- 15 years of experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required

At PwC - AC as a COBOL Modernization Director you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for both sales pursuits and delivery management of large-scale modernization engagements. You will lead clients through critical decisions on modernization approach and strategy developing comprehensive modernization roadmaps and business cases. You should have strong experience in modernization strategy program management and client relationship development along with strong leadership and business acumen. You will drive business development initiatives while ensuring successful delivery of complex modernization programs and will monitor multiple engagements to ensure that all business goals and client expectations are exceeded.
Years of Experience:Candidates with 15 years of experience with significant leadership
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in legacy system modernization with deep understanding of COBOL and mainframe/midrange ecosystems
- Expert knowledge of modernization strategies and ability to guide clients through approach selection (6Rs framework)
- Strong business acumen with experience in sales pursuits proposal development and deal structuring
- Proven track record in delivery management of large-scale complex modernization programs
- Comprehensive knowledge of legacy database and storage technologies including DB2 IMS and VSAM
- Deep understanding of both mainframe (z/OS CICS IMS JCL) and midrange (AS/400 iSeries RPG) platforms
- Strategic vision for cloud-first modernization leveraging AWS Azure and GCP platforms
- Experience developing modernization business cases ROI analysis and migration roadmaps
- Strong knowledge of modernization tools accelerators and industry best practices
- Excellent client relationship management and C-suite engagement skills
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams across onshore/offshore models
- Experience managing P&L resource planning and program financials
- Thought leadership and ability to contribute to firms intellectual capital
- Experience with risk management and quality assurance in large programs
Professional and Educational Background:
BE / / MCA / / M.E / / Masters Degree / MBA from reputed institute(s) with relevant knowledge in computer science information technology business administration or related discipline
