DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
The Banquet Manager coordinates the daily Meetings and Event Operations for the Flamingo Harrahs LINQ and High Roller Wheel House. The Manager is directly responsible for the guest and employee satisfaction efficiency and accuracy of Event service while ensuring a profitable Banquet Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the daily event and set up requirements along with food and beverage service.
- Works alongside Assistant Banquet Managers and acts as a support to fill in missing pieces during the planning and event execution.
- Facilitates tie down meetings for larger events to ensure complete department coordination.
- Works directly with group contact regarding specific requirements from start to finish. Involves verifying pre-arranged start and end times of functions audio visual equipment signage and handling of last minute changes.
- Knowledgeable of all styles of banquet service and checks for clarification when performing unique events.
- Well versed in current food and beverage trends.
- Leads with hospitality compassion and has knowledge of the Las Vegas banquet market. (Not Required but Preferred)
- Schedules and supervises banquet staff to ensure proper execution of events with a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Attends daily Catering meetings to review details of scheduled functions.
- Constantly seeks ways to improve the operation and not settle for the status quo. Allows time and patience to generate change.
- Performs continual inspection of all areas under jurisdiction to ensure standards and follows up timely with support areas on property condition reports.
- Maintains working relationships with support departments serves as a liaison and leads with an inclusive mentality where we all win and lose together.
- Maintains inventory of banquet equipment and repair.
- Mentors Assistant Managers not necessarily thorough introducing new items rather through doing things the right way every day for our customers.
- Provides guidance and training to banquet staff regarding all procedures and food and beverage service as outlined in Banquet/Catering job standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work requires effective communication in English both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
- Work requires 3-5 years Banquet Management work experience.
- Work prefers a College degree in Hotel or F&B Management.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance.
- Work requires ability to compile compute and analyze pertinent data needed for reports
- Work requires flexibility to work various shifts.
- Work requires knowledge of computer programs including: Word Excel Windows Delphi and LMS.
PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Fast paced environment multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems in a timely manner.
