Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Qualifications
Communication:
Presents self in a professional courteous manner.
Establishes and maintains professional rapport with the physicians and office staff.
Establishes and maintains good rapport with patients and significant other appropriately.
Customer Relations
Identifies self with name when answering the telephone.
Greets each patient by introducing self.
Responds appropriately to patient requests as they occur.
Reports all patient complaints to the Diabetes Education Coordinator as the occur.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality with the exception of reporting all medical related information to the Diabetes Education Coordinator or Physician.
Infectious Disease:
Follows appropriate use of Universal Precautions without deviation.
Reports incident of observed or suspected non-compliance with Universal Precautions immediately to the Manager.
Quality Improvement
Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement program under the direction of the Coordinator.
Welcomes new ideas changes and responsibilities to achieve greater success and productivity within the organization
CDE - Certified Diabetes Educator Certification - required
Didactic and experiential preparation in diabetes management - required
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure NYS - required
RD - Registered Dietician - required
Certified Social Worker (CSW) - required
