Essential Functions:

  • Under direction and in accordance with established standards provides direct patient care.
  • Serves as lead worker.
  • Assist physician with rounds.
  • Reviews member medical records to assure that physician orders are posted medication and member care treatment and observations are charted.
  • Verify number and classification of staff available to assign/reassign.
  • Confers with physicians physical and rehabilitation therapists other nursing staff members to plan and evaluate individual members course of treatment.
  • Provides guidance and training to assigned staff.
  • Administers and charts medications.
  • Assess patient condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires (a) graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an associate or diploma degree in nursing and two years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience; OR (b) a bachelors degree in nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; OR (c) a masters degree in nursing.
  • Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
  • Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
  • Requires ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment including personal computers.
  • Requires ability to attend seminars conferences and trainings to stay current on methods tools ideologies or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays as appropriate.
  • This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d)). Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
