Job Summary
This position will be part of the Thai legal team and reports to the VP. Legal for Thailand. You will play a key role in providing legal advisory support to your stakeholders of the assigned business units in all aspects.
General Responsibilities
- Providing advice on all aspects of Thai law (corporate/ commercial/ intellectual property/ competition/ labor/ data privacy/ government or administrative procedures) to your stakeholders of various business units and functions (primarily to healthcare but also includes but not limited to consumer goods technology performance material luxury & lifestyle etc.)
- Partner with internal stakeholders on legal matters in the area of responsibility and develop a good understanding of the business including finance tax compliance and other processes in order to enhance the quality of the legal advice given.
- Drafting reviewing and negotiating a range of contracts including but not limited to client customer and vendor contracts based on the DKSH Contract Manual LOA and local law in collaboration with the business unit finance and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborating with the commercial and legal teams and other stakeholders to provide prompt and practical legal advice.
- Identifying potential legal risk of business activities and proactively provide advice and/or solutions to minimize legal exposure.
- Manage disputes/litigation manage interactions with external counsel as needed to ensure DKSH interests are protected.
- Ensuring that the assigned business units comply with DKSHs internal policies local regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Conducting legal trainings as required from time to time.
- Other ad hoc legal matters as assigned by the VP Legal.
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Substantial experience in the drafting and reviewing the commercial contracts especially distribution supply and licensing contracts.
- Advanced knowledge in contracts and commercial law with sound knowledge and understanding of the business and industry (Healthcare industry is an advantage).
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Good knowledge of the Thai laws which are relevant to business.
Education
- A law degree from a reputable Thai university; an LLM is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience practicing law in a law firm with business law orientation litigation experience is an advantage.
