This role is based in our plant in Edmonton and reports to the Plant Manager. This individual will be responsible for the conditions and maintenance of all equipment and buildings in the Edmonton PVC.
Job Summary
We are looking for a leader who will lead and coordinate activities sought at preventive maintenance continuous optimization and improvement of production equipment and physical plant. Minimizing machine down time due to maintenance issues while ensuring safety in an efficient way will be one of the main responsibilities of this role. Core responsibilities also include direct supervision and management of maintenance activities performed by the maintenance team.
Principal Responsibilities
Ensure a Safety-First culture and support Companys divisional & global safety standards deployment
Ensure compliance with all legal statutory corporate and ethical obligations to protect the Company reputation and minimize risk to employees stakeholders and the wider community
Implement and carry out location safe work rules and procedure as well as conduct annual reviews
Conduct Management of Change (MOC) reviews for all new equipment purchases and improvements of existing equipment/machinery
Schedule and maintain the preventative maintenance (PM) program using IPEX supplied software as well as manage PM Program to meet IPEX HSEMS requirements
Lead & develop maintenance staff effectively optimize usage of human resources within the department conduct annual performance reviews & appraisals and prepare personal growth plans for all employees in maintenance department
Oversee and prioritize plant priorities pertaining to breakdowns projects & PMs and allocate to employees
Manage on call program of maintenance employees to ensure plant production downtime maintained to a minimum
Maintain & improve the 5S program throughout the plant
Utilize and oversee Plant CMMS to ensure work orders are managed & employees are using the system accurately
Manage spare part inventory program for all plant equipment and supplies
Champion maintenance expenditure AFEs at the plant
Lead and participate in root cause analyses and corrective actions
Report and achieve KPI targets
Maintain contractor management program
Effectively plan and manage shutdown maintenance
Provide training and support to staff in relation to safety and technical programs
Qualifications & Experience
Completion of College or University preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or persons with appropriate diplomas and trade licenses
5 years experience in a maintenance leadership role in a manufacturing environment
Solid understanding of engineering concepts and extensive experience with electrical hydraulics mechanical machining and welding
Knowledge of Microsoft Office CMMS systems CAD systems and Scada systems
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
