This position is for an Academic Advisor II for the Mechanical Engineering department in the College of Engineering. This position advises students concerning their academic plans and progress academic schedule choice of major and other academic activities and career goals to assist the student in making decisions concerning personal educational goals leading to graduation. This position requires the knowledge and ability to coordinate and run retention support programs for students. This position supports the upper-level students within the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Education Counseling or academic field directly related to the Advisors specific responsibilities with two years of experience in advising or related academic functions within higher education. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelors degree requirement for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants must have two years of academic advising experience in a university setting (at a 2-year or 4-year degree-granting institution). Additionally they should possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as knowledge of USF policies and procedures Banner/OASIS and Canvas.
