JOB TITLE: C-17 Aircraft Modification Technician - DEFENSE
LOCATION: Joint Base Lewis-McChord WA
PAY RATE: $47.78/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Clearance: Interim or final Secret Clearance post-start is required.

  • Shift: Two-shift operation (1st and 2nd) with assignments based on experience and business need.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

  • Assemble disassemble modify or upgrade aerospace vehicle systems and components.

  • Lead or oversee assembly disassembly overhaul and aircraft configuration.

  • Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot complex pneumatic hydraulic mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Perform validation and verification testing on systems and components.

  • Document repairs test results modifications and inspections for compliance.

  • Inspect components to verify flight-worthiness.

  • Provide training as needed.

  • Work under general direction.

  • Must pass and maintain GOP and air-respirator medical physicals.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

  • Interim or final Secret Clearance post-start is required.

  • High School Diploma/GED plus typically 4 years of related experience OR an equivalent combination (vocational/Associate 2 years Bachelors etc.).

  • 3 years of experience working from heights using fall-protection equipment (225 lb max).

  • 3 years reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • 3 years identifying hazardous working conditions and safety issues.

  • 3 years experience in repair maintenance and retrofit processes.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of live aircraft operations (pneumatic hydraulic structural electrical propulsion).

  • 3 years C-17 platform experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders.

  • Experience with multi-system operations maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to work safely within tight schedules while maintaining quality and productivity.
