About the Role A leading and fast-growing healthcare-focused MEP engineering firm is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to spearhead mechanical design operations. This position requires strong leadership capabilities advanced technical design skills and the ability to build and lead a mechanical engineering team specializing in HVAC Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
This is a senior strategic role suited for someone who wants ownership influence and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Management -
Establish lead and grow the HVAC Plumbing & Fire Protection engineering team.

Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers.

Drive internal technical standards best practices and quality control.
Technical & Design Responsibilities -
Develop and deliver construction plans technical specifications and engineering design documents.

Oversee mechanical system design for large-scale commercial and healthcare projects.

Ensure compliance with relevant codes regulations and engineering standards.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination -
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding project requirements updates and technical clarifications.

Collaborate closely with architects contractors project managers and other disciplines.
Regulatory & Permitting Construction Administration -
Attend and document project meetings.

Conduct site visits and oversee construction progress.

Review shop drawings RFIs change orders and closeout documentation.

Perform on-site field inspections and provide detailed reports.
Required Qualifications -
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).

8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Active P.E. License (Professional Engineer).

Proficiency with Revit for design documentation.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Self-driven proactive and highly organized.
