Job Summary:

Working under CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) department of Clinical Cancer Information Management (CCIM) and working in close partnership with CCMBs Clinical Operations team the incumbent provides leadership in the delivery of training continued education and ongoing support pertaining to the use and system improvements of CCMBs electronic patient record (ARIA) and other related clinical electronic systems applications and platforms to all CCMB staff and regional staff at Community Cancer Program (CCP) sites across Manitoba. The incumbent must be able to adapt to change and able to communicate and implement change to the audience they are training.

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating & providing education and training of clinical application use to all clinical staff (e.g. nursing clerical medical pharmacy PSO etc) to ensure proficient competent use of all electronic clinical systems. This position will work in close collaboration with site managers of the clinical disciplines as required. The incumbent will be involved in training module development and assessment continuing education and the evaluation of efficient effective use of the system for documentation/scheduling etc. as to ensure that all are appropriate for use in rural sites and settings and ensure a provincial scope.

The incumbent is a strong team member of all others that are involved in ARIA training and will attend all pertinent team meetings to ensure that standardization across all Provincial Cancer Programs is implemented and maintained. In keeping with new standards as they are implemented this position adapts and delivers updated training models as needed.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant health care related field or discipline informatics or computer science preferred or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • 3 years of experience in a clinical setting with electronic health record utilization
  • 3 years of experience in delivery of education and training of electronic health record & associated applications utilization to multiple healthcare disciplines
  • 3 years of experience in conducting audits of electronic clinical systems and applications and reporting on compliance errors and reconciliation of accounts and users within a clinical setting
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders across health regions and sites

  • Ability to establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all levels of staff and physicians
  • Ability to work in several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including public speaking and presenting
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; excel word power point outlook

Required Licenses Registrations Designations

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple sites throughout the organization and to lift and carry items.
  • Must have suitable access to a reliable vehicle and valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Evening and weekend work may be required
  • Ability to travel

Other

  • Must have satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Ability to speak French is considered an asset
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred
