Job Summary

Heres What You Need - RNs:

Nursing Diploma required or

Associates Degree of Nursing required

Bachelors degree of Nursing preferred

1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required

CVOR experience strongly preferred

RN Registered Nurse upon hire required and

BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and

A high degree of confidentiality positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment

Heres What You Need - CST Specialist:

High School Diploma or equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1 2009 required or

Other Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program vocational nurse program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology

Other Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology preferred

2 years of experience in a surgical service specialty (robotics cardiovascular/hearts orthopedic neurology) with a minimum of 150 cases performed in that specialty required

2 years of recent CVOR experience highly preferred

CST Certified Surgical Technologist/ CST (MBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) upon hire required or

CST Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1 2009 upon hire required or

CST Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1 2009 upon hire required or

LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required and

BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required and

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. A high degree of confidentiality with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple demands as well as respond to rapidly changing priorities. Service orientation and demonstrated ability to respond to the needs and emotions of people under stress

What You Will Do - CST Speicalist

Preoperatively assists R.N. circulator in formulating a plan of care

Prepare and organize the operating room

Assists in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes infants pediatrics adults and geriatrics

Assists as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively

Assumes responsibility and accountability for behavior to maintain standards for professional nursing practice

Post-operatively follows proper procedures for the care of instruments supplies and equipment.

Under supervision assists RN circulators with post-operative duties
