The Role:

Join Australias most trusted and diverse news organisation as a Planning & Impact Lead in our Melbourne newsroom. This is a leadership role where youll drive impactful original stories and manage innovative content production across multiple platforms. Youll also play a key role in delivering high-quality 7pm News bulletins supporting the Victoria Metro Editor and Deputy Editor with planning logistics and strategic initiatives.

The Job

• Lead planning for multi-platform coverage ensuring stories are relevant and impactful.
• Manage projects and change initiatives aligned with ABC News strategy.
• Oversee community engagement events and foster collaboration between Metro and Regional teams.
• Provide high-level planning and resource allocation for major Victorian events.
• Build and output news bulletins to the highest editorial standards.
• Mentor and manage newsroom staff assist with recruitment and training.

Youre a strategic newsroom leader with a passion for impactful storytelling and collaboration.

Youll have:

• Highly advanced editorial skills and proven experience in senior newsroom roles.
• Strong planning and logistics management skills for daily news and special events.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience delivering innovative content across platforms.
