We are currently looking for a Staff Nurse to transfer to the Oncology Day Ward (37.5 hours per week)
This is ideal for Nurses who thrive under pressure and are committed to delivering safe care by demonstrating compassion critical thinking and teamwork.
Qualifications & Experience
Must have:
- Be registered in the General Division of the active Register held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
- Have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in the acute care sector
- Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuing learning and professional development
Main Job Duties:
- Plan and assess patient care needs.
- Adhere to departmental patient identification policy at all times.
- Ensure a high standard of care evidence-based is delivered safely in accordance with the Hospital policies procedures and guidelines.
- Preserve the dignity and rights of the patient at all times during their stay in the department. Encourage the recognition of the patient as an individual ensuring patients needs and comfort are given priority.
- Communicate with the relevant teams regarding the patients condition and relaying information.
- Document and record accurately all details of nursing care delivered. Update IT systems accordingly.
- Foster good nurse/patient relationships through the provision of holistic Nursing care and support for each patient.
- Ensure that all equipment for use in your designated area is checked by an appropriate user according to Hospital policy.
- Report accidents/incidents complaints to the CNM3. Ensure that accident/incident forms are completed.
- Identify and implement operations of Hospital Policy in all matters.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Hospital/Departmental Emergency Plans.
- Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the Values of the Hospital.
- Play an active role in patient education and be actively involved in Health Education and promotion.
- Have reporting relationship to the Assistant Director of Nursing & CNM3 Cancer Services.
- Have Professional accountability to the Director of Nursing.
