Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an Intermediate Energy Trading Systems Developer for a direct hire position located in Calgary or Edmonton. This role involves providing functional and technical support for the MRM application suite including applications like Openlink Endur. The position is ideal for individuals with experience in Enterprise Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) processes as well as skills in Business Analysis and Development. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment within the Corporate Development department independently prioritizing and delivering against deadlines across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the delivery of projects within the MRM Systems projects portfolio ensuring scope business requirements testing and quality of the solution deliver the intended business outcomes.
- Partner and coordinate with vendor partners and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Document and provide input to solutions/project estimates for business-specific solutions.
- Support activities by engaging in cross-functional program teams internal and external technical partners vendors and consultants as required.
- Provide front-line application support to Enterprise Commodity Risk and Settlement clients in their day-to-day usage of client systems.
- Support ongoing analysis to modernize and simplify the MRM applications and technology portfolio.
- Communicate with business clients regarding MRM systems availability functionality and processes.
- Liaise with various IT service providers (e.g. AMS Database Administrators Storage Networking) to assist in implementing programmed solutions.
- Provide analysis support and coordination to meet the needs of users across the enterprise to maximize the effectiveness of MRM Systems.
- Proactively identify potential areas of improvement or opportunities and recommend to management.
- Utilize technical knowledge and demonstrate application capabilities to support the suite of ETRM systems.
Qualifications:
- 5 7 years of progressive experience in IT processes business management and/or project management.
- Experience supporting Commodity Marketing Risk Management and Settlement functions. Practical experience in IT Commodity Marketing and/or Risk Management is preferred.
- Previous experience in a Business Analyst capacity with the ability to quickly comprehend business requirements and provide comprehensive recommendations.
- Strong aptitude and communication skills related to leading and acting independently.
- Proven interpersonal communication negotiation influence and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative initiate facilitate and lead change.
- Working knowledge of Openlink Endur/Findur is preferred but experience with Allegro Eka or Right Angle is an asset.
