Our Terre Haute site is responsible for a diverse product mix supplying structural components and cores for both military and commercial engines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform basic and advanced weld operations (i.e. work set-up material handling part prep load fixture and tool holders etc.)
  • Prior experience In NADCAP requirements and can consistently meet those aerospace Welding guidelines.
  • Have the ability to perform complex weld repairs. Including the ability to Identify weld defects from Xray results.
  • Qualified In multiple methods and material groups IV VI
  • Assembles rework parts.
  • Certify several material types for TIG and/or EB Welding.
  • Ability to weld and successfully generate compliant Fillet Welds.
  • Knowledge and ability to prep parts for welding including but not limited to routing out and blending.
  • Knowledge and use of manual automatic and dabber tig (fusion) welding equipment.
  • Compliant and trained in visual weld Inspection of finished welds and can identify defects.
  • Measure parts with precision measuring tools including the use of a borescope.
  • Maintain perishable tools used in the work area and replaces or stocks as necessary.
  • Can read blueprints and sketches. With the ability to apply compliantly to all parts and repairs.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement and business initiatives.
  • Keeps work area safe and clean.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Follow all safety and EHS policies and procedures.
  • Follow all GE and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain quality workmanship with attention always directed to task.
  • Evaluate quality problems that inhibit the process with an effective solution
  • Has a minimum of 20/yrs. all groups reference below. Candidates who do not hold these disciplines in GTAW may not be considered as a viable candidate.
  • Ability to adapt to new methods and / or customer satisfaction.
  • Must display good communication skills both written and oral in the English language.
  • Maintain records and perform related duties in assigned department.
  • Cooperative in meeting schedules and customer satisfaction.
  • Display teamwork attitude towards others in department and facility.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and work reasonable amount of overtime as needed.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
