Vast is looking for aSenior People Business Partner reporting to the Senior Manager of People Business Partners to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time exempt (fixed-term for 4 months) position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key HR leader supporting various teams across multiple locations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure employee and business needs are met with a focus on organizational design change leadership and talent management.
  • Recommend develop and implement new HR processes as needed to support business growth.
  • Influence business and talent initiatives aligned with short- and long-term business goals including driving practices that enable high performance and operational excellence.
  • Provide counsel and guidance on complex employee relations matters.
  • Act as an executive coach for key leaders; hold a high bar for leadership values and behaviors.
  • Deploy and/or influence practices that increase employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Model and reinforce our cultural values of All In Make It Happen and Commitment to Safety and Reliability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in human resource management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience as a direct HR/People Business Partner.
  • 2 years of experience conducting or supporting employee investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders on personal and team development.
  • Ability to prioritize workload self-manage projects and handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience designing and deploying HR systems and processes.
  • Strong experience across core HR domains including performance management organizational design talent management compensation and employee relations.
  • Experience advising and influencing executive leadership on talent and employment matters.
  • Experience with peoples data analytics and using data to inform decisions.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Masters degree in HR or related field
  • HR experience in a tech start-up or high-growth environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
  • Specific certifications as appropriate

Salary Range: California

$115000 - $155000 USD

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls and therefore must either be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
