POSITION PURPOSE:
The Human Resources/Medical Records Coordinator supports the long-term care community by ensuring efficient and compliant management of both HR processes and resident documentation. This role oversees the full hiring and onboarding cycle to build a strong and consistent workforce manages payroll with accuracy and timeliness and maintains organized confidential medical records in accordance with regulatory standards. Through dependable administrative support and a focus on service this position helps create a smooth operational foundation for quality resident care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
MEDICAL RECORDS
Maintain accurate complete and confidential resident medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations (HIPAA CMS etc.).
Organize file and update electronic and paper records to ensure timely access by clinical staff and surveyors.
Audit records regularly for accuracy completeness and compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
Assist with preparing medical records for physician visits care conferences and state/federal surveys.
Respond to record requests from residents families and authorized third parties in accordance with policy.
Support nursing and administrative teams by ensuring documentation is current and properly filed.
Participate in staff education related to documentation requirements and medical record practices.
